Five things not to miss on Day Four of the Games

Day 4 of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is upon us, and if you're unsure of what to tune in for, make sure you don't miss these unmissable showcases.

1. Athletics and Para Athletics get under way

All eyes will be on the EDF Scotstoun Stadium as the stars of track and field begin their medal bids. The Women’s T37/38 100m final looks set to be a repeat of the 2022 final as reigning Commonwealth champion Olivia Breen of Wales takes on the Birmingham silver medallist, England's Sophie Hahn. In the Men's race, look out for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic gold medallist Thomas Young (ENG).

2. Ramsay-Peaty out to make amends

An emotional Adam Ramsay-Peaty was pondering his future in the pool after 'only' claiming bronze in the Men's 100m Breaststroke on Saturday. In what is likely to be his final Commonwealth Games individual event, the three-time Olympic champion will want to go out with a bang. Also at Tollcross, the first-ever Commonwealth medals in the Men's 800m Freestyle will be awarded, with Olympic champion Daniel Wiffin racing for Northern Ireland.

3. Maloney starts campaign full of confidence

Three years after finding herself homeless, athlete Shafiqua Maloney will start her campaign to win a first major international title as one of the favourites in the Women's 800m. With the three women in front of her in the Paris 2024 Olympic final not competing at the EDF Scotstoun Stadium, the 27-year-old will fancy landing St Vincent and the Grenadines' first Commonwealth medal since 2010. 

4. Medal 'within sight' for Ugandan Para swimmer

Husnah Kukundakwe may only be 19 but she has been competing internationally for Uganda for seven years. The swimmer is her nation's team captain at Glasgow 2026 and has her sights set on their first Commonwealth medal outside athletics and boxing. "The medal is within sight and I hope I have the times and the strength to achieve that," Kukundakwe said. Watch out for her in the 100m Breaststroke SB8 event.

5. Rhys gets back on the horse

After missing Saturday's Artistic Gymnastics Men's All-Around final, Northern Ireland’s Olympic Pommel Horse champion Rhys McClenaghan will be looking to reclaim the Commonwealth title he first won for Northern Ireland at Gold Coast 2018, before placing second at Birmingham 2022.
