Set up in 2020, inspired by the incredible impact of the fundraising achieved at Glasgow 2014, the Commonwealth Sport Foundation looks to help address some of the world's greatest challenges and support sport and development programmes in each host city with a focus on youth, inclusion and community.
Inspired by our engaged athletes and communities, our aim is to shape a more peaceful, sustainable and prosperous future across the Commonwealth. The funds of the Foundation will be used to make the greatest impact, now, and well into the future.
The Foundation has so far raised almost £5m to help change the lives of athletes and communities. Projects from Para sport and youth inclusion programmes to a jobs and skills academy for young people supported by the £3.5m development fund that was enabled through the 2022 Commonwealth Games Host City Contract, This fund ensures the vision, legacy and benefits of Birmingham 2022 are brought to life across the Commonwealth through sport.
