eqUIP Oceania camp held in Fiji
The Commonwealth Games Federation has hosted a 3 day workshop in Nadi, Fiji, for the latest intake of eqUIP interns from Oceania.
There were 12 attendees for the workshop, with representation from six Commonwealth Games Associations: Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Tuvalu, Australia, Fiji and Cook Islands.
The workshop focused on their personal development, identifying areas of work and the impact they will have on their CGAs capacity. There were discussions about how they can work collectively, as one Oceania, to support and grow together
The interns will be working across a range of projects whilst on their one year placement.
These include development of IT systems and athlete databases, athlete high performance, community engagement, as well as supporting preparations for the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games and the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands later this year.
eqUIP is a Commonwealth wide approach to develop youth leaders through internship and employment opportunities, empowering them to make a positive contribution to their communities through sport.
