Norfolk Island is an external territory of Australia and lies in the South Pacific and about 1676kms east of Sydney.

Having made their debut at the Edinburgh Games of 1986, they have become an integral part of the Games Family, winning their first medal at the 1994 Games held in Victoria. Carmelita Anderson took home a lawn bowls bronze medal in the ladies singles. Since these Games the Norfolk Islands have participated in every Commonwealth Games. At the 2010 Delhi Games 22 athletes took part in archery, lawn bowls, shooting and squash.

The Norfolk Island Amateur Sports and Commonwealth Games Association are the body responsible for organising the Island's participation in the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Youth Games.
