Adrian Lismore appointed Chair of the Commonwealth Sport Foundation
Commonwealth Sport has confirmed the appointment of Adrian Lismore as the new Chair of the Commonwealth Sport Foundation (CSF), the charitable arm of Commonwealth Sport. The appointment was approved by the Commonwealth Sport Executive Board at its meeting in October 2025.
Adrian steps into his new role having served as a Trustee of the Foundation for the past 18 months, bringing extensive leadership experience in finance, technology, sustainability, and esports. He is currently Vice President and Chair of the Finance, Legal, and Administration Commission at the Global Esports Federation (GEF), and has enjoyed a distinguished career spanning senior roles in international investment banking, renewable energy, and philanthropic initiatives.
Under his leadership, the Commonwealth Sport Foundation will continue to drive positive social impact through sport, focusing on initiatives that support young people, promote equality, and address pressing global challenges across the Commonwealth.
In the build-up to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, one of the Foundation’s key priorities will be raising funds through the official Glasgow 2026 Charity Partnership. The campaign will invite spectators and fans to contribute directly when purchasing tickets, with proceeds supporting youth and disability sport projects across the Commonwealth and in Glasgow.
Dr Donald Rukare, Interim President of Commonwealth Sport, said: “Adrian has been an incredibly valuable and committed Trustee, and I am delighted that the Executive Board confirmed his appointment as Chair of the Commonwealth Sport Foundation. His passion for innovation, sustainability, and community engagement reflects the very essence of what the Foundation stands for. I am confident that under his leadership, the Foundation will continue to thrive and deliver meaningful impact across the Commonwealth as we look ahead to Glasgow 2026 and beyond.
‘’I would also like to extend my warmest thanks to Jeya Wilson for her outstanding service as Chair and am pleased that she has agreed to continue as a trustee of the Foundation.”
Adrian Lismore said: “I am honoured to be appointed Chair of the Commonwealth Sport Foundation, the official charity partner of Commonwealth Sport, which seeks to change lives through the power of sport and our diversity.
We will raise awareness and encourage participation in the Foundation’s work, built around three core pillars, Youth, Community and Inclusion.
“With the support of my fellow Trustees, including outgoing Chair Jeya Wilson, our focus will be to build on the momentum of the incredible Games that Glasgow 2026 will deliver. We will raise awareness and encourage participation in the Foundation’s work, built around three core pillars, Youth, Community and Inclusion.
“From our GAPS programme supporting para-athletes, to initiatives promoting environmental action through the King’s Baton Relay, and leadership pathways for women and young people, we are committed to using sport as a force for good.
“These programmes are only possible through the support of fans, athletes and partners. Together, the 74 nations and territories of the Commonwealth can demonstrate that charity, kindness and solidarity will help us leave a legacy to inspire generations to come.”
The Commonwealth Sport Foundation was established to help transform lives and communities through sport, with a focus on sustainable development, youth empowerment, and social inclusion.
