Famous for their appearance at Carnival time, the Klddies Carnival Kings and Queens will perform alongside a youth steel pan side, while spectators will be able to enjoy tassa and tamboo bamboo stands within the Stadium. Celebrations of Emancipation Day on 1 August will continue through to the opening ceremony as the history of the Caribbean Nation is communicated through performing arts.

Following the traditional parade of nations, there will be a demonstration of the sports being played during the Games. Each sport will be represented by an incredible Moko Jumbie, designed to not only glisten in the sunlight, but also show movement similar to the sport.

Closing the festivities will be Trinidad and Tobago-born group, Freetown Collective who will perform the theme song created especially for the Youth Games. ‘Stay Ready’ contains a powerful message to the athletes to embrace their opportunity and rise to the challenges of the Games.

The premier performance will be preceded by official welcomes from Trinidad and Tobago President, Christine Kangaloo, and Commonwealth Games Federation President, Dame Louise Martin.

Joining the fun will be teams based in Tobago. Through a live stream, the athletes will be able to join in the celebrations at their own ‘watch party’ on the twin island.

Tickets to join in the wonderful Opening Ceremony are on sale now priced at USD$7 for adults, and free for attendees 18 and under. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to be part of the excitement as the largest multi sport event in Trinidad and Tobago kicks off!
